2025 Ucluelet Photography Tour
From December 1-5th (Mon-Fri), Sandra & I looking to offer a 4-day/4-night photography tour in & around Ucluelet, BC, where Sandra & I call home. We chose this Monday-Friday timing for a few reasons, one of which is some might want to add on additional weekend days to extend their time in this wondrous part of BC. FYI Sandra & I moved from Whistler (where I lived for 26 years) to Ucluelet (aka Ukee) in 2020.
Note that this time of year is part of what is sometimes referred to as storm season meaning we could get winds, waves, rain (maybe lots of it), even snow on occasion but we could also get ‘quieter’ and sunny weather - basically it’s very unpredictable. Depending on the weather & ocean conditions, we would look to shoot the sunrise over the Broken Group Islands, storm waves, forest/trees, sunsets and whatever else this amazing part of Vancouver Island presents to us (possibly even a starry night sky if we are fortunate to get a clear sky). And while some days we could be outdoors for a lengthy period of time, the hiking would generally be moderate with hikes generally being less than 2 km at a time (and many less than 500m). Note that we would not be shooting in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and only maybe in Tofino if the conditions warrant a trip there.
You can see examples of photos captured by David in this area here: West Coast Storms and here: Ucluelet/Tofino While the photos on this tour page were all shot from Ucluelet (and from mid-November to December of the year indicated below each photo), not all of the photos on these other links were shot in Ucluelet.
We plan to limit the number of participants to 5 or 6 (min. of 4 req’d) with a fee currently set at $2,400 Cdn + GST (not including accommodation, meals, transportation to Ucluelet or around Ucluelet once here, trip cancellation & other insurance, other food, drinks). Based on various input, we felt it best to provide a ‘stripped down’ tour as some people could be interested in sorting out their own accommodation & meals so as to better manage costs. We’re still sorting out the details but, in the meantime, for additional information or to enquire about potentially joining this tour please email David at: davidlmccolm@gmail.com
